Community Planning

The Scottish Government defines community planning as ‘a process which helps public agencies to work together with the community to plan and deliver better services which make a real difference to people’s lives’.

It is important that the Third Sector is represented, consulted and included in this process, as it aims to ensure that communities are actively involved in decisions about public services that directly affect them. VABS works to represent our local Third Sector in community planning agendas and also looks to promote strong relationships between public bodies and the communities and groups working within them. VABS aims to consult with Third Sector organisations and involve them in the community planning process where appropriate.

As part of our Community Planning work, VABS is part of the Badenoch and Strathspey Community Partnership.
