What is a Social Enterprise?

Social enterprises operate in the same way as other trading businesses. However, unlike many standard businesses, social enterprises have a particular social purpose or aim that they are trying to achieve through their work. Rather than generating profits for their owners or shareholders, social enterprises trade in order to bring social, community and/or environmental benefits.

If you are interested in setting up or further developing a Social Enterprise and would like help or advice, please get in touch with us at the VABS office to discuss your plans and find out what we can do to support you along the way.
